A Cryptonomicon Lookshelf

1) Who are you and where are you?
I am a husband and father living in Bothell, Washington, a suburb of Seattle.
2) What do you do for work?
I am retired from a large multi-national corporation. The firm is involved in transportation.
3) What do you do for fun?
I travel, with my wife, to US destinations and, occasionally, overseas. I also garden, build web pages and keep fit. Did I mention that I read constantly?
4) Tell me something about your bookshelves.
The shelf pictured is one of three similar bookshelves. This one is future reads - books I've acquired over the years, intending to read. Some are in progress.
5) Tell me something about ONE of the books on your shelf.
Cryptonomicon, by Neal Stephenson - I began reading it about 4 years ago, got halfway through it and, for reasons now forgotten, never finished it. Remarkably, I still remember the story line and plan to finish it in the next month or so.

I would say that your selections are or must be typical of our generation. There is something there for anyone who is willing to step out of his/her comfort zone for just a minute or so to dabble in other pursuits. I look at my one little miserable book shelf, and then remember the thousands of books I once had and read and took to the local library so others could enjoy them also. Thanks for sharing, from one who lives in the shadows of the North Carolina pines and harwood trees...ED
