A Not About The Buildings Lookshelf
1) Who are you and where are you?
My name is Matthew Lawrence and I'm in Providence, Rhode Island.
2) What do you do for work?
I run Not About The Buildings, which does literary events around town.
3) What do you do for fun?
Pretty much the same thing I do for work: host spelling bees, publish chapbooks, and organize marathon readings of really short books.
4) Tell me something about your bookshelves.
I recently did an art exhibit fundraiser in my apartment, so as I put things back together the books managed to stay relatively organized thematically. This image shows the film/TV/cultural stuff shelf (which is right under my movie collection.)
5) Tell me something about ONE of the books on your shelf.
Robinson In Space is an amazing film about Britain in the nineties; it is very dry, very funny, and very educational. Nothing could be more British. The accompanying book expands on the film, which is nice because I forget everything I learn from films until I see it written down somewhere.
